Crossword by: Gareth Bain
Today we’re talking foreign currencies but a crazy mix of it, so in other words… as 60 Across hints to: mad money.
I particularly like the way Gareth has put this together, it is quite creative. Here are the Thursday’s themed clues and answers:
17 Across: *Place for a soak in Bangkok? THAI BATH – Thailand’s currency is the Thai Baht and you get about 32 Baht for each US dollar today. On average you could buy a Singha, local brand of beer, for about 20 Baht.
23 Across: *Mumbai baby food? INDIAN PUREE – India’s currency is the Rupee and in today’s climate you will get about 6,200 rupee if you hand over a Benji.
36 Across: *Low point in Oran? ALGERIAN NADIR – The Algerian currency is the Dinar and 1 dollar will get you about 78 of these babies.
47 Across: *Stance in a Monterrey studio? MEXICAN POSE – And of course the Mexican currency is the Peso and if you hand over a US dollar you will get about 14 Pesos, or about 5 tacos in a cheap neighbourhood and maybe a sombrero too:)
